I haven't been online much for about the last month. I spent the last two weeks working with a band at a studio in Indianapolis; the studio had broadband, but, being the main engineer for the project, I never got to use it. (Meanwhile, their singer wasted time smoking weed and surfing porn sites while he should have been recording vocals. Priorities, priorities.)

Bush has declared the war concluded in Iraq; but we still don't have peace, and won't have it for a while to come. Peace is more than merely a state of not fighting; peace is an active and complex thing that requires more effort than war, and rarely--if ever--can be brought about by bombs or threats. Sometimes a war can set the stage for peace, but it's foolish to mistake the mere end of fighting with real peace. Now that we've totally fucked up the gov't in Iraq, we have to put the pieces back together (or at least provide the glue for doing so); and I doubt Dumbya, Rumsfled and Company will be able to do it. That will, I supect, have to wait for Dumbya's successor, after he loses next year.
