If the attending physician were a gay progressive, I would suspect him or her would to their best to assure Mr. Phelps avoided dying at all normal costs. Now, if the emergency room doctor were a typical callous conservative, I would begin expressing my condolences to the family members present (if any actually cared to be present) were I to know the politics of the medical personel in question.

I don't know a lot of things, but in the time of crisis, you can almost always count on a lefty to work toward saving human; as well as non-human life, while the reactionary individual tends to "play god" and assign a caste variable as to who deserves to live and who might be better off dead. Sad, but true when the political ideology of those in the medical field are made public when faced with this concern.
