and many who read this know it. GK has proven that, many times. GK's suppressor designs are still cutting edge, and he's never claimed to bother with commercial designs. Certainly, the ones for centerfires cost 3-5x what anyone can justify. He has always advocated that you make your own silencer, on a form 1

The short barrel on the AR is for 3 reasons. Concealability when disassembled (in a pack) handiness with the silencer mounted, and concealability (under arm, under a coat) with a folding stock. One is made for the DI guns, you just can't fire it with the stock folded, that's all. Or get a piston AR if you wish.
