In the first place married couples in the military cannot even work for the same organization (squadron, ship, headquarters, whatever) although they CAN be stationed on the same base. No way could one work for the other, that's completely out of the question.

The biggest issue at this stage of their carreers would be finding suitable assignments for each within some proximatey of each other. JAG's are somewhat limited anyway (I think there are only something like 800 in the Navy/Marines total).

Washington might be one of the very few places they COULD have each had a post somewhat close together, maybe one at JAG HQ, one at the appeals branch, or Fort Fumble (Pentagon).

They never worked FOR each other. They worked at the same level (in RL, they each would have supervised various junior attorneys) in differing chains, and answered UP the chain to the same person/people, so no foul there. They were of equal rank, and (technically) not in a relationship that violated the regulations (it was not "intimate" although one could argue that on an emotional basis). Marriage would change that drastically.

Although they try to find suitable billets for each close to one another (it's a win-win for the military, a happy soldier/sailor is likely to stay in)it's often tough. For two relatively high ranking JAG's it would be very difficult.
