In reply to: Nina 's message, "The greatest ending would have been... Inside" on 23:42:26 05/05/05 Thu

That's what I wanted, AJ would have pulled some strings... (NT) -- HiG, 21:26:26 04/29/05 Fri

i think mac really did not expect harm to come to the plate. she was just sort of expecting nothing to happen as usual. she did not get her hopes up. harm never gave any indication until now. (NT) -- Lori, 21:29:58 04/29/05 Fri

I think Harm felt that actions were louder than words.Definitely how I feel alot of the time.I loved Harm saying that he thought he would never feel for another woman what he feels for Mac.(NT)--Nina, 21:33:55 04/29/05 Fri

The camera angle didn't include that. (NT) -- PB, 21:40:39 04/29/05 Fri

Somehow I would like to have seen his face as he said those words. (NT) -- PB, 21:42:31 04/29/05 Fri

Speaking of camera angles. I really like how they did the flashback, they colored the either H or M when the other was thinking about the scene. I thought it was very clever to see which scenes each were thinking of seperately and together. I personally really liked the flashback moments, very poignant and good summary. (NT) -- mariko, 15:16:01 04/30/05 Sat

I noticed that but wasn't really paying that much attention to who was colored and who was B/W. Now I have to watch it YET AGAIN! (NT) -- JAG Junkie--Is it possible to OD on the finale?, 16:06:40 04/30/05 Sat

you won't find intervention here for watching the finale over and over and over and over and over again. :) I just really liked the episode. I'm just happy because we didn't get shafted like we did with quantum leap, ya know. (NT) -- mariko, 16:14:24 04/30/05 Sat

I agree. She was just trying to convince herself that it was going to be okay. She may have said let's talk about you and me, but it was Harm who dove in first when he said how he felt. (NT) -- JAG Junkie, 21:35:35 04/29/05 Fri

That is what I thought she didn't think it would happen so was making the best of it. But in the end she was so much more happy being with Harm. (NT) -- Hope, 21:40:20 04/29/05 Fri

ITA. Mac just didn't think that Harm would take the inititive in their relationship. (NT) -- hm_shipper, 21:40:03 04/29/05 Fri

I think Harm had finally given up hoping that Mac would step up to the plate either. (NT) -- Bree - beyond thrilled and relieved that they're together forever now!, 14:57:54 04/30/05 Sat

Especially after what she said at her apartment. He looked awfully disappointed that she said "it doesn't seem so bad". I think he was hoping that she was going to give him a sign. (NT) -- JAG Junkie--ecstatic that Mac did finally did give him an opening at his apt and that he dove in head first!, 16:11:16 04/30/05 Sat

Remember that Harm's been waiting since last fall for Mac to be ready to talk to him. He let her know he'd be ready when she was, and to let him know when that was. I think that he went to her apt, thinking she might be ready or give him a sign - she didn't, so he dind't push the issue. When she came to him, he was ready to be open and upfront about his feelings and what he wanted with her. (NT) -- nancyeddy, 17:20:56 04/30/05 Sat

Sounds like a great setup for a fanfic. (NT) -- JAG Junkie, 21:33:21 04/29/05 Fri

Its all done you guys not much we can undo but let's just be happy and grateful that DB still had a heart for this fans. As I said above things could have been a lot worst. (NT) -- JosieW, 21:38:37 04/29/05 Fri

I say to that, "hear, hear" , but I also say...anyone for a large DVD promotion. I can just see it now, "the most riveting and romantic military drama ever....10 years in the making, eh?" I think he really didn't have a choice, he's always tried to sell the H/M storyline even though he doesn't like to admit it, and for DVD prospects, he iced it heavily in the finale. right? so heart now heart...here's how i see it. (NT) -- mariko, 15:37:53 04/30/05 Sat

Did you all hear Mac asking Harriet to help her look for a wedding dress?I loved it, it gave my shipper heart faith that Mac and Harm were in it for the long haul.(NT)-- Nina, 21:43:05 04/29/05 Fri

I MISSED IT! When was that?! Gotta go rewind. (NT) -- Angela S, 21:44:51 04/29/05 Fri

I missed that! was it in the bar? (NT) -- PB, 21:44:54 04/29/05 Fri

I heard that too. She says it in the bar as the camera pans to Jen (I think) coming in the door. (NT) -- Elizabeth, 21:47:40 04/29/05 Fri

Yes,it was in the bar.It is when they pan on to Jen.You don't see them, you just hear it.But it gave me that giddy feeling. You know that when two women start talking about bridal gown shopping-it is for real.(NT)-- Nina, 21:52:59 04/29/05 Fri

One of the guys said "absolutely" at the same time. Wonder if Harm asked Bud to be the best man? (NT) -- mjs, 21:51:04 04/29/05 Fri

Ok on my FOURTH viewing of the end, I heard all of that (the dress and the absolutely). Why wasn't that more pronounced? Most people probably didn't even catch it. (NT) -- JAG Junkie, 21:59:59 04/29/05 Fri

Yeah, I missed all that too. Only thing is, I can't rewind 'cause I forgot to tape the episode. Loved it though. Did anyone see DB's ambiguous ending? (NT) -- carramor, 22:03:44 04/29/05 Fri

I think the ambiguous part was referring to the status of their careers. But I'm okay with that. Who cares, as long as they're TOGETHER! (NT) -- JAG Junkie, 22:07:14 04/29/05 Fri

I think it would have been good if it was kind of like "what if" where its a flash back or flash future of some sorts. I know that "what if" was kind of silly, but I think it had possibilities. I would have liked to see the wedding scene and then H/M reminesce how they got to be at their happy state that they are in now. Also to prove that Harm beat the odds and kept Mac and fulfill the whole "what if" plot. (NT) -- mariko, 15:01:26 04/30/05 Sat

I did notice a couple of references to What If - one more overt that the other. First, Harm asked Mac "Do you believe in fate?" just like he did in What If. Secondly, when Harm said he needed a deadline, it made me think of him in WI saying he always thought there would be time. And Mac said, "Love can't wait." I think Harm just always thought Mac would be near him and there was no urgency to push forward with a relationship. I'm glad this deadline spurred him on! (NT) -- shygirl, 15:43:39 04/30/05 Sat

I never saw it that way, shygirl. Overall, I think that if we wondered what happened next, I think watching "what if" scenes that harm dreamed up would be a perfect conclusion. I forgot, what did their fortune cookie say? (NT) -- mariko, 15:50:00 04/30/05 Sat

Your unspoken desire is the road not taken. (NT) -- JAG Junkie, 16:00:18 04/30/05 Sat

I agree with hoping the General would pull some strings. Their military careers are so important to both of them; they made them who they are. Harm just got the promotion he never thought he would get and I can't see Mac happy being a stay at home mom. Hopefully, it would have been worked out. (NT) -- Deborah, 15:46:55 04/30/05 Sat

I've always imagined the possibilities of mac becoming a judge. So maybe in speculation, mac goes to be a judge oversea and they won't be under the same command, right? (NT) -- mariko, 15:53:23 04/30/05 Sat

Nina, that would have been perfect, and it would have mant less of Yuckyvic. Five minutes of Harm and Mac after waiting nine years just wasn't enough, but they are together! That's important. I resented all the time taken up by Yucky, but the General did not seem surprised at all when he heard the news at the end. Henri (NT) -- Henri, 16:22:02 04/30/05 Sat

At first it bothered me a little bit too - esp at mac's apt that she seemed more casual than harm about the moves - but as i have watched the episode over adnover again - the more i have decided that her reaction was a tying up of her story arc. Harm - needed to open up adn let mac in - he needed to actually say i love you - mac had never had that problem (except maybe to harm). Bud - needed to show that he had grown up and was his own man - no longer needing to be "second chair" to harm or mac. even the general got to be accepted by the group. going back through the seasons - mac always seemed to need a boyfriend - she wanted harm but brumby, dalton, and webb were there williong and available - mac never seemed to be okay by herself. as frustrating as the last two seasons have been - I do think we have seen harm and mac grow- harm through mattie and going after mac in paraguay - and mac through the angst, web, paraguay and 4% solutution. I think allowing her the possibility of being happy in san diego made her more complete and ready to be with harm - in san diego or london. finally - I know we wanted mac to say I love you too - but I think she does - that scene at the bar -when the bartender says she is a lucky woman - she looks directly at harm and says " yes i am" - in some ways she could not have said it more clearly. just a thought - still basking though! I cannot get enough of the last five minutes!(NT)-- iflynavy, 16:32:49 04/30/05 Sat

The last five minutes will rule- forever! (NT) -- can j- just allowing the TV to cool down while I check the HB and vice versa, 20:05:05 04/30/05 Sat
