In the first place, no one puts a time clock on an 06 like that. On any officer, for that matter. You would have a "report date" to sign in at your new station, and a last duty date at your previous. Except for transport to places where there is no commercial air transport, for normal rotations the military uses civilian air carriers. Harm would simply have a ticket on a commercial flight to London. He has the option of getting it through the military, or buying it on his own and getting reimbursed for it. MY guess, there were 12 hours before his flight. (NT) -- CM>^.,.^< it's not that complex, but if you want to know something specific for a FF, email me, Dance,'K?, 16:32:49 05/07/05 Sat

This changed from the normal military charter of civilian aircraft about 15 years ago. It's cheaper for them to just buy tickets. Now, for R&R from SWAsia, they DO use charters, that's because there are NO civil air carriers in and out. BTW, the AF CHARGES the other services to transport their personnel on their aircraft, about the same as a regular airline ticket would cost--different budgets, lol! So CatMom, what you're saying is if they needed a little "wiggle room" in the schedule, they could find it!!! (NT) -- OJ, 16:38:49 05/07/05 Sat

"Wiggle room" sounds like what happens when they get back from McMurpheys (NT) -- Spud, 16:52:35 05/07/05 Sat

What do you mean? They 'wiggled' before AND after McMuphy's. (NT) -- David, 17:25:02 05/07/05 Sat

Works for me! Most tickets can be changed for $50 - $100 bucks - no big dent in the wallet for an O-6, and I'm sure there are more than a few flights per day out of Dulles to Heathrow. (NT) -- The Chief, 17:33:36 05/07/05 Sat

I figured twelve hours was the last time they'd report to JAG - turn in all their staffing requests. finalize any responsibilites and change duty stations officially. Since the General still hadn't seen Mac's list or he would have known Coates wasn't on it.. that would imply to me - they had more JAG business to complete. I think they rushed the relationship so badly - that many lines and details were not explained clearly enough. (NT) -- Chris K- who would love to ask the writer - whys and whats, 16:58:20 05/07/05 Sat

Good catch, ChrisK. I think you might have a point. Unless Harm was leaving earlier than Mac. (NT) -- TH sings "He's leavin' on that midnight plane to Heathrow" Would Mac rather live in his world, than live without him in hers? Now that's the question!, 22:42:47 05/07/05 Sat
