Anyhow I don't remember anyone ever noticing the following before re: Harm and Mac and I hope I explain myself properly here:
1. Mac and Webb finally get it together and the morning after the night before Mac tells Webb she loves him. He's off to "Germany" and sends her little tokens, eg. carousel; singers etc.
2. In the mean time Harm makes snide comments about their relationship, which Mac then HAS to defend. Still he's the one who rings Bethesda and gives her his heatpad (real x fake - anyone?)
3. Next she finds out Webb has died; she gets bad news from hospital and Mattie is leaving to go back to daddy.

In the discussion outside the Officers Club, Mac is the one who notes that Harm has always been a constant in her life - hence "Will you always be there?" and Harm answers in the affirmative
But in 4% solution we later find out, SHE then says "I can't"

My point is, she knows he'll be there regardless and she can no longer commit to him, because his comment that men in a relationship with her "are either dead or wish they were" has struck again: Webb is dead and she told him less than a week before that she loved him. So series 10 to me follows a progression because in order to keep Harm alive and not let the MacKenzie curse strike again, she has to stand back from him - so no real contact.
