Hail and Farewell – Part 1 and 2 (Season 9/Season 10)

Mac receives word that Webb has died while on a mission. AJ retires with a dining out celebration at which Harm and Mac discuss their future.

Part 2 - After going to Pearl Harbor to try to identify Webb’s body, Mac returns home to find Simon Tanveer, a former British operative, waiting for her with the news that there is a hit man on the hunt for those associated with Webb. Intrigued by Tanveer’s story, Mac joins forces with him in an effort to uncover the mystery surrounding Webb’s death. After barely surviving an assassination attempt themselves, Mac and Tanveer enlist Harm’s help in catching the assassin.

Corporate Raiders

When a Marine dies and another is wounded in a friendly fire incident, Mac and Harm get involved when the Marine's widow shows them e-mails in which her husband accuses a private security consulting firm of inappropriate behavior in the military operation.

Retrial

At the request of Seaman Saul Wainright who is serving a life sentence in a federal prison for stabbing a transsexual prostitute 20 years ago, Harm convinces Naval authorities to re-open the case. The seaman insists that he accidentally stabbed the prostitute once. She was later found dead of multiple stab wounds. With help from civilian legal counsel Alicia Montes, Harm conducts an investigation into whether the authorities were negligent at the trial when they didn't inform his defense attorney that a convicted felon confessed to the murder before his death. Meanwhile, Bud is up against Mac in court when he defends a bigamist.

A Whole New Ballgame

Capital Hill and JAG are abuzz with rumors when it's learned that the president's nominee to be the Judge Advocate General is Colonel Gordon Cresswell, a tough Marine lawyer with combat experience. The news spreads to Harm and Mac, who are aboard a US destroyer resolving a dispute between Canadian and U.S. fishermen. Upon hearing the nomination, Mac worries that her history with the Colonel will affect her position in the office.

This Just In From Baghdad

The new JAG, Marine General Gordon Cresswell, sends Harm and Mac to Baghdad to participate in the court martial of a sergeant accused of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Senior Department of Defense Advisor Dwight Kanin. Mac uncovers that the men may have been pressured by both Kanin and their superiors, who were less than pleased with Kanin's presence and attitude, to take the official into the line of fire.

One Big Boat

Mac and Sturgis go to court when the Naval Academy's sailing instructor is charged with dereliction of duty and court-martialed after a midshipman drowns during a training exercise. Bud's brother Mike, who was aboard the ship at the time, idolizes his commander and rallies to his defense. Meanwhile, Harm and Mattie’s relationship changes as she returns to her father.

Camp Delta

Harm and Mac travel to a terrorist holding facility known as "Camp Delta" in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where three MP's are on trial for abusing a prisoner who was an Army Corporal working undercover as a detainee. Back in Washington, Bud is arrested for punching a civilian who made derogatory remarks against the military.

There Goes the Neighborhood

The new life Coates has built is threatened when she is visited by a friend from her criminal past. When Coates' old partner-in-crime, Pia, arrives unannounced, Coates wants to help Pia put her past behind her, just as Coates did with Harm’s help. But Pia’s odd behavior and the sudden appearance of a dangerous ex-boyfriend threatens Coates' new-found stability, especially when she is accused of murder. Meanwhile, Roberts defends a pilot who is accused of taking her thrill-seeking father on an unauthorized flight in an F-18 he bought on the internet. This episode was directed by DJE.

The Man on the Bridge

When the Navy's top bio-weapons expert's car is found deserted on a bridge, investigators think it is either suicide or a possible terrorist abduction. Harm and Mac are sent in to assist the FBI investigation, which reveals that the scientist's father, a noted scientist in the same field as his son, committed suicide years before after being accused of treason. Bud presents Cresswell with a petition from a female Marine who wants be allowed to fight male opponents in boxing tournaments.

The Four Percent Solution

Most of this episode is told in flashbacks as Mac, unconscious from a car accident, remembers two months earlier when she was plagued by insomnia after Webb's disappearance and reluctantly sought the help of Dr. McCool, the psychiatrist who treated her after Paraguay. Through flashbacks, after McCool refuses to prescribe sleep medications without talking first, Mac is forced to face Webb's deceit. The episode was Harm-light, yet Harm’s presence was felt throughout the episode as Mac pours out her life and her emotions. In the present-time ending scene, Harm rushes to the hospital after being called by the EMTs about Mac’s accident. He elects to stay with Mac and not make his annual Christmas Eve visit to the Vietnam Veterans Wall.

Automatic for the People

Harm travels to the China Lake Naval Weapons Research Center in California to investigate after a top secret F-14 flight ends in a fiery crash near a local playground. Harm discovers that the crash was actually a test-flight gone awry for a new laser weapon by a contracted firm.

The Sixth Juror

Harm and Mac are sent to a small naval station in Florida to defend and prosecute an enlisted man accused of murdering a civilian. Coates is sent along to assist and ends up sitting on the jury panel only to almost cause a mistrial after noticing the odd behavior of a fellow juror.

Heart of Darkness

Harm and Mac travel to Afghanistan to track down a Marine captain who deserted his unit. The renegade Marine captain has organized a group of local tribesmen to hunt down Osama Bin Laden. Stateside, Big Bud tries to enlist Bud's help to avoid being called back to active duty.

Fit for Duty

When a young Marine makes a single-handed attack against an insurgent stronghold in Iraq, his actions are questioned by his fellow officers. Harm and Mac find themselves on opposite sides of the courtroom when the Navy psychiatrist who had treated the Marine for combat stress is charged with malpractice and court martialed for possibly sending him back into combat too soon.

Bridging the Gulf

While completing routine flight qualifications, Harm is forced to shoot a civilian plane down when it approaches a no-fly zone. When the identity of the plane's passenger is revealed as a high ranking politician in the new Iraqi government, Harm's actions are questioned and bought under review. Meanwhile, Cresswell pairs Mac with a new JAG attorney, Navy Lt. Vukovic.

Straits of Malacca

Mac and Lt. Vukovic are sent to Indonesia to negotiate a hostage release involving Naval personnel and modern day pirates. General Cresswell informs Mac and Vukovic that the "pirate" they must deal with is notorious in the area and is wanted by the Indonesian government for commandeering cargo ships. But just as they begin to question their suspect, Vukovic realizes the pirate's crew is still at large and headed toward a major seaport with a ship full of explosives. Bud and Harriet have an open house to celebrate the arrival of their new twins while the General's daughter strikes up a relationship with Midshipman Mike Roberts. Harm appears only briefly in this episode.

JAG: San Diego

Mac and Vukovic go up against each other at the court martial of a Marine accused of killing a Nicaraguan civilian during a humanitarian mission while they also attend the annual JAG conference in San Diego. Vukovic becomes the center of attention outside of the courtroom when, while socializing off duty, he catches the eye of Lt. Graves, who earlier investigated a crash of an F-14 with Harm. Meanwhile, back at JAG, Harm gets an emergency call that Mattie has been involved in a tragic accident.

Death at the Mosque

During an attack on a mosque being used as an armed camp by Iraqi insurgents, a young Marine is filmed by a network news crew as he shoots a seemingly innocent Iraqi civilian. General Cresswell sends Lt. Vukovic to Iraq to defend the Marine.

Two Towns

Harm and Bud travel to a small Midwest town to assist the relatives of 17 Marine Reservists who where killed together in the line of duty. After the only survivor arrives home, the JAG lawyers must step in when the soldier is identified as the prime suspect in a fire that destroys the local Marine Reserve Center. Mac is dispatched to Iraq to deal with the local townspeople when a young man accused of planting a bomb staunchly maintains his innocence.

Unknown Soldier

When remains of a Vietnam soldier are found in Laos, General Cresswell's brother believes they are those of a chopper pilot whose heroic actions saved his life on the battlefield. Vukovic and Graves are sent to find the veteran's only known relatives in an effort to tell them of his heroism. Harm and Mac find themselves on opposing sides when a Naval Reserve doctor is accused of disobeying orders when she attempted to save the life of a severely wounded Iraqi child.

Dream Team

Harm and Vukovic are assigned to defend a seaman accused of killing a much larger opponent in a shipboard fist fight and find evidence that proves their client is innocent. That is, until Bud, who is prosecuting the case, turns the tables on them. The last scene of this episode is Cresswell’s announcement of Harm and Mac’s reassignments and Harm’s promotion to Captain.

Fair Winds and Following Seas

Vukovic investigates a Marine recruit's odd behavior at the Parris Island training center. Harm and Mac finally face their feelings toward each other and become engaged. A coin toss by Bud will decide which one of them will resign their commission.
