I guess we discussed the Mic v. Linsey pardoning topic before, but here are my 2-cents- Mic was a strong contestant for the "Insert Your Foot in Mouth" Award, but at least he recognized his mistakes. Lindsey wanted to ascend and tried to use Mac as a staircase. Maybe that's why Singer felt a connection with him- he doesn't have friends, people around him are a step to overcome on his way to the top. (NT) -- Sleepwalking Yali, 22:10:23 03/18/03 Tue

I'm confused so help me out -- I thought Lindsay was ordered to prosecute. I didn't remember any 'using of the situation' what am I missing. Also I thought Lindsay ended the prosecution episode on good terms with all. I was actually somewhat surprised by the promotion episode -- considering Aj's prior comments about Lindsay being a good litigator. (NT) -- CarolL, 22:53:34 03/18/03 Tue

I think it was more of a reading between the lines thing. AJ was sort of damning him with faint praise, if I remember correctly. In the military, if you don't say on an officers efficency report that they can just about walk on water, they're toast. By not 'fighting' for him, AJ was damning him, it's just subtle. I think there was a definite double standard there. Lindsey was the devil and Mac went out with Mic??? About Harm, everything you say is true except that Harm has risen through the ranks where Lindsey has remained dead wood and so I can see a jealousy there. But you're right, we haven't seen that before. (NT) -- judi, 22:19:44 03/18/03 Tue

Doubt it's a double standard. With time, Harm has recognized Lindsey for what he is. Many 'go places' by attaching themselves to someone else, which is what he did with the SecNav. For an officer to go beyond 05, he/she usually has to DO something, have something beyond the norm. He doesn't have that, and has never tried to show he did. He's tried to do everything the easy way-even the first Admiral, who was as a creep, said something about him never sticking his neck out. That's what Ingles wanted to know as the line officer on the promotion board where Lindsey got shot down. (NT) -- CM>^.,.^<, 22:52:50 03/18/03 Tue
