I took it to mean that Harm resolved his court, Mac couldn't be around (or was and it was cut), then maybe Harm took time for himself or Mac was away on a case... She didn't have much time between the fitting and her flight.. she left from there to Harms to see him before she left. Made a point of seeing him. I thought the diamond book she took with her was a trivia sort of book, not the "dummy book" but all is just MHO (NT) -- JBird, 13:36:41 05/08/03 Thu

Hello Confused. Welcome to the HB...LOL. Ok..my take on your questions: 1) Harm and Mac may have spoken but he arrived back..possibly from R and R, when she was at the CIA dept of fake ids. 2) The dress looked like it was meant as a summer dress. I imagine she has to be seen at the airport as pregnant. It would be too suspicious carrying a padded dress to be put on in Paraguay. Skipping 3 for now. INSIDE for more rivetting opinions..lol. -- Cece, waiving to Techie and J-Bird, 14:11:59 05/08/03 Thu

Still Confused.LOL! If H & M are supposed to be such good friends or whatever wouldn't one or both of them been on the phone asap after his trial ended no matter where they were? Where did this distance come from? Inside - -- Techie51 (waivin to JBird and Cece!), 14:31:27 05/08/03 Thu

But she didn't say she was going on a dangerous mission. She gave very little info, just that she was leaving on an assignment. Then Harm guessed it was with Webb and asked if it were a dangerous mission. INSIDE -- Cece..thinking that Harm would prefer his guitar to time spent with Mac...at least that's the way he has been acting. IMO., 14:53:43 05/08/03 Thu

ITA - guitar time vs Mac and ya can hear him strumming. I can see an "awakening" in Harm as logical considering the Singer baby gig, B/H new baby, Sergei is getting married, AJ and whatshername and his trial for murder - that's enough to make him think about his situation - and his career. Hence the contemplative guitar playing - it's thought time. JMHO. (NT) -- Techie51, 15:00:13 05/08/03 Thu

My guess: Webb suspects a traitor in the op/”the Co.” Mac intentionally acts brazen, imprudent, and sassy to bait and reveal the traitor. What true-to-form Webb didn’t count on was the lop-sided number of “drivers” even though he knew Gunny would be there. Webb prob’ly thought it would be 3-2 in his favor, but was shocked when the numbers turned overwhelmingly against him … a sadly-consistent corollary with Webb-ops. I loved seeing the sassy, civvy Mac; how long’s it been … Embassy? Toooo long! (NT) -- LindyS.
wondering what we would have felt if Mac hadn't visited Harm before she left. This scene is kinda reminiscent of ADII’s ending, only now who’s left behind?, 15:38:32 05/08/03 Thu

Hi Techie--IMO- almost all situations in escapist TV are contrived- the fun comes from seeing things that we wouldn't see in RL. I still don't know that when Mac shows up at his door that it is the first contact they've had since his arrest. It seems lots of people are just making that assumption and treating it like a fact. It was his first day back at work and she wasn't there --maybe she wanted to know how it went. She is obviously worried about how he is doing. I also imagine she wanted to tell him in person about her assignment with Webb. (INSIDE) -- manette, 14:36:33 05/08/03 Thu

Hey! Contrived with logic within the created universe I can enjoy certainly, but this is a stretch for me. LOL!! Just see it as pushing buttons. I can't help it! (NT) -- Techie51, 14:46:03 05/08/03 Thu

Well, if you are speaking of shipper buttons, we have been screaming to have our buttons pushed... I plan to enjoy every minute they give me!! Would it have been better if Mac left without telling him? I'm not sure what she could have done differently....As Cece said - there was no rancor-- just honesty and maybe some regret. If he felt guilty,(which, even as a lay person, I believe is a self imposed emotion) it was because he had regrets of his own... (NT) -- shamelessly shallow manette, 15:01:49 05/08/03 Thu

Hey again! Yes, guilt is a self imposed emotion and others who know us can create a situation where someone would self impose guilt and rancor is not a necessary element. Folks who are good at inducing guilty feelings in others do it with wide eyed innocence. I"m just being my contrary self, I guess. And you're ceratinly not shamlessly shallow!!!! And I certainly am a contrary stinker!! LOL! (NT) -- Techie51, 15:14:23 05/08/03 Thu

LOL-- contrary stinker?? Well, I love these discussions so don't feel you have to be agreeable on my account....LOL!! (NT) -- manette who just thinks Mac is entitled to her feelings without always having to put them through a Harm filter first., 15:20:22 05/08/03 Thu

OK, Me again - - Of course Mac is entitled to her feelings, but ( I always have a qualifier LOL!) these two Folks are in the military. It's part of their culture to try your best not to say something controversial when either youa re your spouse are leaving on an assignment. Like Mannette mentioned - this is like Mac saying something like this to Harm as he is walking out to his F-14 on a dangerous mission. Just Me. Inappropriate to say something so leading into serious talk time territory when you are walking out the door and into danger. (NT) -- Techie51 (The Resident Contrary Person LOL!), 15:32:53 05/08/03 Thu

Ok me one more time too-- RCP-- my point was that Harm was the one that started the personal stuff when he said he didn't want her to go-- How can we blame her for responding? (He knew that she had to go--she had accepted the assignment. The argument could be made that he was trying to make her feel guilty)But I think it was finally just a moment of honest emotion between the two of them-- something that they will have to deal with--hopefully someday-- maybe....sigh (NT) -- manette, 15:39:08 05/08/03 Thu

Somehow, I don't think the 'three lil words' would have been controversial. If he told her WHY he didn't want her to go, full well KNOWING she would have to anyway. There is something to be said for letting someone know they have something to come back for. Harm was the one left hanging, she was the one going into danger. (NT) -- CM>^.,.^<, 15:41:57 05/08/03 Thu

Yup, Harm sure could have - he could have done something for a long time now. Neither one of these two seem to want to lay whatever it is between them on the line. Why would Mac needle him now if not to leave him thinking and as I see it, feeling guilty? Just me - LOL!!! (NT) -- Techie51(he could have said a lot of things - if he wanted to - - ), 15:46:31 05/08/03 Thu

Wait a sec, Mac was responding to Harm saying he did NOT want her to go. If your position holds true, wouldn't Harm be the one that played the guilt/emotion card first? Harm knew she was leaving momentarily and couldn't change her present assignment/situation. Maybe Harm should have held back his remark 'til a more appropriate time like you suggest. (NT) -- LindyS. just my tid-bittles, 15:53:49 05/08/03 Thu

ITA. Who is he to be telling her not to go? [kind of] Did he REALLY think she was going to say "Why, sure Harm! If YOU want me to not go, I'll just call Webb adn the Admiral and tell them it's all off"! He *did* play the "emotional blackmail" [kind of] card FIRST. If he had just said "Be careful" or somehting, she would have had to reason to say anything other than "Thanks" ...... which would have made for a MUCH less controversial conversation! LOL! (NT) -- MichelleB, 18:45:18 05/08/03 Thu

ITA with the hat wearing TX Tart here. Mac is entitled to her feelings, she probably went through a lot herself. And being unable to "DO" anything about it probably drove her pretty nuts too. She wouldn't have just 'left' w/o letting him know, we don't KNOW when she last saw/talked/wrote/contacted him. For all we know he could have gone to see Mom/Grandma after the trial and just got back. (NT) -- CM>^.,.^<, 15:33:43 05/08/03 Thu

Hey CM how are ya???? Well, how about the " your last conversation with loved ones before you leave should not be something that is an accusation - something that would be your last conversation should you never come back". (NT) -- Techie51 (really not trying to be such a "stinker" - just see things this way), 15:40:21 05/08/03 Thu

If Harm was the one who was headed off into danger, like getting ready to strap on his Tomcat and go bomb something, I'm with you all the way. Since she's the one who's going to be in danger, I'd say it's her call. (NT) -- CM>^.,.^< maybe she would have felt worse if she hadn't said it., 20:21:11 05/08/03 Thu

I agree with Cece & JBird that she didn't have much time but wanted to see him before she left & she needed to arrive in Paraguay pregnant. Also think she maybe playfully couldn't resist seeing what his reaction would be (teasingly messing with his mind a bit!) to show up obviously pregnant at his door. (NT) -- Araninda, 14:38:09 05/08/03 Thu

ITA she was teasing him - my usual contrary minds just sees the teasing given the circumstance of his trial and her leaving on a "very dangerous mission with Webb" as way out of place. Just MHO!!! (NT) -- Techie51, 14:49:24 05/08/03 Thu

The whole NCIS fiasco shook Jag a bit but this week is a Jag salutation. Im just grateful that H&M did have a tiny moment and the Jag staffers really missing him.Not much but better than zero play. Not a perfect Jag but mission improved.Writers room giving us some H&M love flares & hope. This ep was a great way to cure the Jag blahs.
