In reply to: Lee 's message, "The Symbolism missed In Last Nights Episode" on 00:35:35 05/24/03 Sat

Pretty good, wonder if the writer's knew this??? also Mac loses.....inside -- jerseygirl353, 19:10:13 05/14/03 Wed
Great reference, Lee. However, I think you're much deeper than TPTB's writers. Remember, these same dudes wrote the dog eating the ring and AJ waiting for it to poop last week. But it's STILL an excellent premise! (NT) -- CM>^.,.^<, 20:16:42 05/14/03 Wed

But we also must remember that the AJ part of the story was written in last minute to eat time. It wasn't part of the orginal storyline either. :> (NT) -- Lee, 21:42:08 05/14/03 Wed

Wow,....I never would have thought of all this but it is interesting and could be tied together that way, however, I dont think the writers may be thinking that deep..who knows! I liked this episode, it will tie last week and next together and sometimes its necessary to do that in a way that is somewhat challenging for us simple minded fans. (no offense to anyone) : ) (NT) -- jagglebelle, 19:24:01 05/14/03 Wed

Great symbolism idea Lee................we'll have to just wait and see if the writers are as clever as you are. (NT) -- CindyB, 20:04:06 05/14/03 Wed

What a picker upper for miserable Webbies too. We need to strap in more for our Webb next week. Need your insights inside -- Josie, 20:17:51 05/14/03 Wed

Webb Symbolism This Season…. -- Lee, 20:43:19 05/14/03 Wed
My field of study includes drama from the ancient Greeks to the present, and though I see symbolism, I don't see any Mephastopheles in this ep. I saw the symbolism of a wedding vows, and a ring that would not break the bond easily. And if Harm was selling his soul, so to speak, he was enjoying himself on the way. Sure I'm overreacting. Doesn't mean I can't read actions, words, and yes...symbols too. (NT) -- Cece...seems to me Harm forgot about Mac for a few hours at the hospital, at the side of a virtual stranger., 22:24:38 05/14/03 Wed

Mepha what? You lost me here and no doubt have the ablility to shoot this right over my head. I was simply referring to the basic story arch type frame work. It is there. This arch pops up in Sci Fi and Fan. all the time. (NT) -- Lee-, 22:40:42 05/14/03 Wed

Well ..... interesting theory , but I do think you're reading WAAAAAAY more into it than the writers intended. But until & unless we get input as to what symoblism (if any) they purposefully inserted, we all can interpret what was shown however we want to. I like Lauri's theory up the Board. [I think it was Lauri!] It's simple and makes sense to me. I guess we'll never know! Unless someone asks at the FanFest! (NT) -- MichelleB, 23:03:06 05/14/03 Wed

You know, Lee, even if TPTB weren't going for this particular reference, let's just say, "There's nothing new under the sun". Most of the writers are trained in some way w/ classic movie lit which comes from classic plays (Shakespeare) which comes from classic Greek plays/mythology & the Bible. They've done it without realizing it, probably. Also, this is NOT the first time Harm has risked or tried to give up his career for one obsession or another. The BIG Q is, will he REALLY turn to the "Dark Side" in this?? (NT) -- The Chief - Harm will find a way to save everyone (unless Webb end up a martyr) and keep his commission., 15:28:55 05/15/03 Thu
