Subject: I am trying to imagine if this had been Harm's last episode
In reply to: - 's message, "season eight:Tangled Webb, May 20, 2003" on 03:29:26 05/22/03 Thu

I can't imagine a sadder end for a character that has BEEN the story for eight years. He quits the job he loves to try to save the woman that he loves???maybe- But he is still conflicted about all that.

But he is giving everything up to do what he has to do and then it turns incredibly Harm light—I kept waiting to see Harm to the rescue—Harm on a horse—Harm worried—Harm plotting—Harm doing something. If this could have been his last hurrah we should have seen a lot more of Harm in action and a little less crying at JAG time.

So he finds Mac and Clay—I can live with the comfort Mac and Clayton shared under difficult circumstances—although I think Clay's LOVE was from out of left field- but we don't even get a 'Hey Harm'—'Hey Mac- nice to see you.' when he rescues her. I think it is typical of TPTB to write all of the heartfelt comforting scenes between Mac and Clay and then we don't even get to see what happens when Harm rescues Mac. If this was his last ep—didn't we deserve to get to see that? (Of course after last weeks lingering H/C kiss we have to keep it all even)

So then our hero sees Mac kiss Clayton—he looks bothered, but he is noble and still conflicted, so he puts on a good face.

He takes to the air with Mac by his side like old times, they dynamite the truck—Hurray for our hero! and then they crash….

Now since we know he is coming back we have all sorts of interesting things that can happen next season—they can compare marriages—kissing techniques…but if Harm had died?

Harm would have died thinking he didn't get the girl – and that since he had crashed the plane he probably didn't even save the girl -- He would have died thinking he failed to do what he set out to do-- How sad!!–but I guess they thought they were going full circle since his career at JAG started because of a plane crash…So it's Goodbye Harm—been nice knowing ya!! But we will carry on without you……..Sorry the character deserved a better ending.

PS.- His last words to Mac were 'Grab my stick and hang on tight—I 'm going lower. Hang on!!' If he had said this to her the night she was in his apartment they would never have ended up in this mess……
