A Gentle Man

I know it's hard to comprehend
The death of such a special friend
There are no words that can explain
Or could ever take away the pain

Of seeing a family in such strife
The loss of such a precious life
A father that was always there
With love and care in how they fare

A husband that was always true
Devoted, loving ,protecting too
Of family that he loved so much
And guided with his gentle touch

Their happiness, his main concern
The love of life, the need to learn
And all the good they could achieve
If in themselves they would believe

But lord you chose to take this soul
And leave them with this empty hole
Now give them strength to understand
Please give them your guiding hand

We know he's safe in your domain
And in our hearts he will remain
A treasured memory of a man
That loved much more than many can
