Dreamkeeper

In the shadows of the darkness he remains throughout the night
You may feel his presence but his form you'll never sight
He waits till you are sleeping, tucked snugly in your bed
It's then that he takes control of the images in your head

He may grant you images, so calming and serene
Or scenes of pain and terror that wakes you with a scream
You could dream of loved-ones, passed away of late
Or they could be of the future, yes journeys into fate

The type of dream he leaves depends on how you live
If your heart is dark and shallow, unable to forgive
Your dreams will be of misery, he'll make you sleep in pain
Until your soul has seen the light and from hate you will refrain

If your life is one of kindness and love of all you meet
Then in your sleep he'll leave warm thoughts for you to greet
So live your life with love, with kindness and with care
For at night when you're asleep, the Dreamkeeper will be there
