Subject: how do i use these darn mods

 ok i have mods and i want to know how to use them cause every time i go to misc and type the folder name in it works but when i go to join a server it says (you currently have the blah blah blah mod running )and it says to disable the mod and it wont let me join any servers............please email me back with help!!!!!
