A surpurb story of the supernatural. Also fear, danger, friendship. All the elements of a great novel.

I felt like I was Watchin TV. This is an empty book. It should make a great movie on the sci fi channel.

In what sense was this an "empty book?"
As with most of Mr. Koontz's books, you have to have a certain suspension of disbelief to accept the premise on which the story is based. However, this suspension of disbelief is an element of any supernatural and most science fiction stories. Once you are past that point, the story is good.
The police officers involved are likeable characters. Harry is a solid guy who believes in keeping the law but is not a bully. Connie has an off-color attitude and some bad habits, but she is also struggling to do good in her life.
I enjoy the section where he tells the story from the dog's perspective. It makes for a fun transition from the negative aspects of the story line.
Like all of Mr. Koontz's books, this one isn't for people who like being depressed and reading books that reinforce their negative view of life. The story is an adventure for some generally good characters. The evil characters exist to give the heroes an enemy to fight. I enjoy these kinds of books.

Love the book but can anyone help me out with the literary elements of the book? For example tone, mood, theme, point of view, and any others. Would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I absolutly love Dean koontz and I thought this was a great book! I like most of them but this one and False Memory have got to be two of my favorites.
