Lightning screenplay -- Areg Sarkissian, 18:01:59 09/11/03 Thu
I am starting a screenwriting class today for the sole purpose of turning "lightning" into a screenplay. I believe that a movie based on the screenplay by the right director, has the potential to be a blockbuster in the magnitude of T2 or Titanic. I too believe that this novel has a very unique story and rich characters. Most importantly it has the element of good vs evil and a strong romanitic element between the leading male and female characters, which is what makes great movies. I have plenty of ideas for scenes in the movie and I can almost picture them in my minds eye. I have read the book many times over and I still get excited when reading it. I have cousin that has produced a few famous jacky chan movies. I have not had a relationship with him, but I am hoping that he may be a "in" for me to pitch the screenplay. I am open to collaborating with someone that has much better writing skills than me and would welcome ideas about the screenplay. I am more interested to see the movie turn into reality than to be the sole person writing the screenplay. You can email me directly if you would be interested in some sort of collaboration.

Re: Lightning screenplay -- Charlotte Ford, 23:09:30 08/19/04 Thu
Just read this thread - and agree that Lightning would make a terrific movie and would definately be interested in getting involved in the writing process. I'm a writer from Australia who has a background in theatre but is branching off into film.
Anyway, hope it all goes well.

Re: Lightning -- Peter Daniels, 18:26:54 12/16/03 Tue
I am extremely interested in the concept of adapting 'Lightning' into a screenplay. Having read the book numerous times myself, I have always seen the movie potential in the book, and I am very excited to find that someone else has the same attitude.
I have already completed several spec scripts, some of which are in various stages of development, but I would love to have the opportunity to work on the adaptation of 'Lightning'.
Please e-mail me at the above address.

Re: Lightning -- Wyatt Bernstein, 15:19:46 05/06/04 Thu
Hey,
I just read this thread randomly because I started writing a screenplay for Lightning as a practice spec script, based on the abridged audio version. did you guys make any progress?? I'm a NY based writer/director with loads of studio connections. I know many people at Dimension Films which i think would be a great place to pitch to--keep the dream alive. It would make a great movie with the right director./

Re: Lightning -- carl moon (late!!!), 18:55:54 09/09/07 Sun
And i thought that I was the only person to have had this vision!. alas, i am at least 3 years late posting my views, so there is a good chance that no-one will ever read this anyhow...... but just in case, I will say, i am an avid horror/supernatural book type reader.well you can imagine my face after the first two chapters, but still it already had it's hooks embedded deeply into my skin.the horror turned out to be ME the next morning, as i'd stayed awake all night reading this ..this wonderfully delicious book!. that's it! i was(am still)addicted to 'lightning'. The next day was the same, walking around, book in one hand, vacuum cleaner in the other!.Everyone had a late dinner in my house that day, and I stayed up again, and nailed that sucker..WOOOOOW!!!!!Not ever has a book or a movie ever had such an impact on me. My first thoughts were of course, 'it'd make a great movie!!!'. I wanted the tall blond guy(baddie in james bond's for your eyes only) to play my stefan kreiger, the scar faced origami loving guy in 'bladerunner' for my kokoshka, maybe brooke shields for my laura(adult)and maybe the guy who played 'slider' in top gun for my danny.......two problems, they're all too old now, and I am just dreaming anyhow. but you guys, you can take it to the next level! some of you have film making skills, others have contacts,i don't suppose there's a multi millionaire among you that is looking for a sound investment?, a wee project?. This is one of those things that you just can't let slip through the net.let's just hope in fifty years, when we're old and wrinkled and sitting in our comfy nursing homes, that one of us doesn't turn to the other and say...'you ever read dean koontz's 'lightning'?....then the other replies ...'yep, and it would have made a great film too'.....AH! S@*T!
