Re: Sole Survivor -- Bill, 00:24:12 02/27/03 Thu
I also enjoyed this one very much and have read it several times.
I've never been a fan of either evolution or creation science, so I particularly enjoyed the created universe stuff. As I read it, I enjoyed the thought of how much it would irritate zealots on either side who have often condemned me for not agreeing with them.
Have you seen the movie? I saw the last part of it recently. I get very upset when movies deviate at all from the books on which they are based, and in the part that I saw, there were deviations that I didn't like.
On the positive side, the actor who played Joe Carpenter looked the way that I thought Joe Carpenter should look. He didn't exactly fit the picture in my mind, but he was close enough that I wasn't upset watching him. Likewise, the movie's Nina was a reasonably good fit for Nina as I have pictured her. I wish I had found the movie early enough to have seen their Rose Tucker and their Barbara, the crash investigator.
