Melanie willingly cued Princess into a trot and trotted a warmup circle. Her friends watched as she turned the Arabian and pressed her into a light canter towards the course. The slender mare seemed to float over the ground. Mel kept the reins short and leaned forwards in 2 point as they pounded over the grass. An oxer loomed ahead. Princess tucked her legs under & soared over the fence. As they landed, Mel sat back softly in the saddle and collected the reins, driving Princess onto the 2nd fence. They finished the course easily and cantered back. Mel let out a whoop. "That was so much fun!" she said, bending forwards to pat Princess on her sweaty neck. "Good girl!"
