"Ok," she said. They halted the horses on a grassy bank and dismounted. Cassidy took off the saddle & pad and laid them in the grass. Jon gave her a leg up onto the stallion's back and Cassidy gathered the reins. "In the summer we just ride in our bathing suits, but it is still spring. Feel that breeze?" "Yah." Jon pulled off Montana's saddle & pad and dumped them in the grass. Then he mounted the colt. The horses walked to the shore. Montana balked but then when Gent moved past him and splashed into a shallow part with a slow current, the colt jumped in after him. "I'm not planning on entering any shows with Gent this month. Maybe a halter class. I just got him...I don't know." She steered the big Tennesee Walker into the middle of the river. "When did you start riding?" Jon asked her. Cassidy grinned. "You DO know who my mother is don't you?" "Right, you must have been placed in the saddle before you could walk." "Pretty much. Of course my mom wanted me to do huntseat, but I wanted to ride saddleseat. I got a little Hackney when I was about 5. My aunt showed pleasure/park horses and she got me started. Melanie, however, is a total dressage freak and loves eventing. She showed hunters when she was a little kid." Cassidy bent down to wrap her arms around Gent's neck. "Now that I have him..." she trailed off. Gent dipped his muzzle to drink. "What about you?" Cassidy asked, straightening.
Susan, do you know where I can find a good pic to match Gent's stats? (Black TW.)
