Hi Jenny,
I am researching a Felix Crone, bricklayer, who came to Australia in the mid 1800s-the only death notice I have found calls him Phillip but I'm not convinced this isn't just a transcription error.
He was born in Ireland as was his first wife and they lived in Stockport, Cheshire at the time of the 1851 census. His wife died and some of his children-one is referred to in his will (PROV Wills Victoria Australia).I can't find a record of his entry into Victoria yet.
There are a lot of Crones around St Arnaud and Donald in Victoria who carry his name but were step children. The Nash family were deserted by the father (as the story goes)and he took up with the mother and looked after the children. Still working on him as hearsay says he is connected to my family-but still haven't found the connection. Let me know if you want further info,
