Can you please tell me what Patersons you are tracing? I am researching Patersons from Motherwell/Airdrie.

Thomas Paterson and Susanna McMillan came from Ireland to Airdrie about 1840, they had Hugh, James (born in Ireland)
William, Thomas, Robert and Sarah born in Airdrie.
Hugh married Helen Gavin then Jessie Mckenzie. The family went to the USA sometime between 1877 and 1880, they returned about 1889, and settled in Motherwell.
I have all the dates of births for Hugh and Helen's children and also of Hugh and Jessies, and limited information of some of the other children. What I am really trying to find, is, where in Ireland these Patersons came from. I know that Thomas and Susanna's parents were both farmers and that Thomas's parents were William Paterson and Joanna McCulloch.
