Hello. My name Maiden name is Mckivett (my mothers maiden name also). We aquired this name through my grandfather, but have not been able to get much family history. On my grandfathers side there was a family member who was arrested as a child and transported to Canada to live and work. (we used to have a photo of him sitting outside a shack as an older man) Unfortunatley we have no date. Also as far as I know there is a gentleman living in forest gate with the name Derek Mckivett. we believe that the gentleman you are refering to may be the same gentleman that was arrested. He would have been my grandads greatgrandads' relation. We also know that there were Mckivetts in the london area (one of my grandfathers uncles we believe). Also there is a gentleman that recently passed away with the same name as my grandfather George Mckivett.

I hope some of this helps and would love to know more myself. Please contact me via Email if u need further help.

Regards Selena Born.

Hello.
Have some more family history on our side. Don't know if this is if any use.

My grandfather's full name is George Edward Mckivett born 9/10/1915. His father was called Edwin Goerge Mckivett born 26/8/1876 His wife was Selina Elizabeth Buck born 29/3..year not documented.
My grandfathers Grandfather was Charles francis Mckivett, his wife was Rebbeca Harding. (Himself being a glass blower). Also my grandfather remembers a cousin with the last name Wilson.

As I said I don't know if this helps, but is the furthest we can trace back through our family. Please contact me via email at Selena.born@ntlworld.com if you have any queries or any further info.

Regards

Selena

>hello, just responding to other notes on this site - my grandfather Patrick James McKivett was born in Kilrush Co Clare in about 1888 - believe he stowed away on a ship in Kilkee Co Clare about 1912 & found his way to Onslo in WA. had a sister May who went to the USA & married a JohnMcCabe in Buffalo New York. I have no other relatives in Australia. Dad (Arthur) was an only child and I have a brother Gary. Would be interested to hear from any McKivetts who may have a link to Kilrush/Kilkee Co Clare Ireland

Hello, is it possible that the Mac Kivett, McKivett and Kivett surnames are of the very same family? I administer a yDNA project for the Kivetts and would welcome participation from MacKivett or McKivett males.

Warren
