Subject: Suggestion for best way to use this forum

Let's post issues with subject line as follows:

SUBCOMM ISSUE: (issue)

example: SUBCOMM ISSUE: BIDDING PROCESS

then post the issue and which players have initiated the topic with discussion on if / when / how you think it should hit the rules committee agenda.

we all then post our discussion under it.

after all subcomm members have had their input on the issue and it has been discussed, the chairman will post the proposed agenda item in a new post with the subject line as follows:

SUBCOMM ISSUE: (issue) (status)

example: SUBCOMM ISSUE: BIDDING PROCESS -- PROPOSED AGENDA ITEM ?

or another example: SUBCOMM ISSUE: BIDDING PROCESS -- TABLE UNTIL JAN 2001 ?

the question mark means all members need to vote on it, so the chairman knows whether or not the decision reflects the concensus of all subcomm members. Subcomm members post under the thread as follows:

YES -- ADD TO AGENDA (post can include comments or suggested changes to the wording of the agenda item) OR

NO -- DO NOT ADD TO AGENDA (with discussion) OR

YES -- TABLE THE ISSUE

The chairman can add a REPLY BY date/time on the issue.

I don't think we all have to agree on the issue, i.e., whether or not top 20 games should be bid in the lobby ... we only have to agree on whether or not it is an issue that needs to be addressed by the rules committee and/or if it needs to be addressed at this time. We are NOT deciding what we think the outcome of the issue should be, just IF it is an issue and IF it is appropriate to be added to the agenda at the current time.

I don't think we were elected to decide what the outcome of issues should be; we are only here to make sure that valid issues and concerns are addressed by the rules committee.
