Subject: Season 1....Episode 1

while making a tape for heather i noticed something id never noticed before..

in the very first episode,the opening theme is the incidental music Paul K. Joyce wrote,,,not the "striving" song..

and the opening sequence in ep 1 doesnt show any of the actors..millie flying,waving to her friends etc...
none of that..goes straight from the "worst witch" logo to the shot of the generic witches hovering round the castle
then to the girl with the long plait ducking under the gate

which is odd in itself as they always fly over the walls...

the strive song is being sung by the whispers choir in the courtyard..

but in the 2nd episode the opening is the one thats used for the next 39 episodes...


maybe the first episode was a pilot ...that was then shopped round to studios...

then retooled for the 2nd ep

the FX in the first ep are pretty cheap looking compared to even the next ep,,,the scene where millie sees the castle with wiches flying about looks a little bit low budget compared to the rest of the series...

oh well
