i just thought of something
they must have had to change some dialogue in the americanized version
torch,fortnight,skivers,and oiks
would likely meet with blank stares by an american viewer.
hmmmmmmm
the american dub must have been a well intentioned gamble by gala to get the show accepted there.
yet Monty Python was huuuuge in the states (still is)
and brit coms run almost daily on the PBS station we get from Buffalo New York
none of them are dubbed...
