The tories spent $400 million in severence to lay off 10,000
nurses to close 34 hospitals to help pay for the tax cuts the rich got...
now they are spending $375 million to rehire 10,000 nurses......hmmmmmm

while claiming to have balanced the provincial budget in 1999,they neglected to mention they had to borrow 6 billion dollars to do this balancing act...
2 years later they still owe the money but it doesnt show on the books due to deffered capitol sommats or other...

meanwhile the tax cuts for the rich just keep coming

15% more this year added to the 32 % since 1995

meanwhile the ministry of the envoirenment had its budget cut by 50% over 5 years and had 40% of its staff made redundent
as a direct result of this lack of manpower
testing of contaminents by mega industries that dump straight into lake ontario is now done by the companies themselves useing the 'honour' system..
by coincidence most of these huge companies like general motors gave huge amounts of money to the mike harris election campaigns in 95 and 99....

and just to show how 'tuff' he was,mikey cut the $10 per month extra welfare gave to pregnant mothers to buy extra milk etc...as mike reasoned,"theyd only spend it on beer anyways".......
