Ok. The first thing that you need to remember is that turnout isn't everything. Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses; you just need to learn how to deal with them. You also must remember never to turnout out from you feet no matter how bad you think your turnout is. Always turn out from the hips and make sure you are using your turnout muscles. To find these muscles, face a barre and lean back onto your heels. While keeping your legs straight and your ankles flexed, rotate your legs outward as far as you can without rolling your ankles or turning out from the feet. Some exercises that you can do (if you have a theraband) are to sit in a butterfly position and wrap the theraband around your legs, tying it tightly in the middle. Press your legs down into the floor for about thirty seconds and then release. You should feel your turnout muscles working. Repeat this several times EVERY SINGLE DAY (as well as regular butterfly stretches)! Another stretch that you can do is to sit on the floor with one leg in attitude at a ninety degree angle. Take you other leg and place it on top oof yyour other leg with the ankle restng just above the knee. Gently press your knee down with your hand. Don't forget, your turnout will not magically improve overnight; this is going to take some time. But if you do these exercises every single day and concentrate on using your turnout muscles throughout your ballet classes, you should see a vast improvement in about 6-8 weeks. If you have anymore questions I'll be happy to answer them asap. Keep dancing!
