Well that is the sad part about it alot of you won't remember the LightHouse but your momma will.We opened the LightHouse in 1971 and it closed 1991. It could hold 2000 people. We played good music Disco, Country, Rock and Roll. We had Mr. Tush contest we had Victor the wrestling bear. We had Mud wrestling Women. We had talent contest. We had fun. We had a lighted dance floor and a lighted wall. Every Wendsday night we would have a beer bust for $5 and drink all the beer you could drink. On Fridays and Saturday we would have over 1000 people. Every now and then we would book some one like Stevie B, Noel, some one big but its was mostly a DJ. One night my husband fired the DJ and he put me up there and I DJ for 6 years. I didn't know how to scatch and do all those fancy things I just played good music. They called me Momma T because I was always breaking up fights and match making. I love GOOD MUSIC! I always played slow music. They don't do that no more it's all this weird music or rap. They don't play slow music. Whats up with this.Thats the whole point of going out to meet some one. There are many many stories that could be told about the THE LIGHTHOUSE it is a legend in it's time. I heard it was opening up Thursday I might have to crash that party. LOL If there gonna use the Light House name they could a least let me in free.
