Hi, I'm in need of advice....
I bought a RUNT Great Dane, but I took him back to the seller after 2 weeks. Let me tell you, I was heart broken, I taught him so much and loved him dearly, but I realized being a single woman w/a puppy was a lot of work. I didn't feel I could give him quite as much time as he needed. (I work full-time and live alone) I hated to crate him during the day while I was working, and if I had to run errands or go somewhere I always felt guilty. I wouldn't do the things I would usually do because I wanted to care for the pup and make sure he was happy. I felt it was better for the puppy and myself at this point in my life to find him a home that could spend more time w/him.
I also could have sold him for more money than what I paid, but I felt it was fair to contact the seller/breeder first!

Anyway, when I brought him back after only 2 weeks, the seller said that he had HOD in 2 legs and it was starting in a 3rd. I was soooo particular w/his diet. I fed him Diamond Lamb and Rice (about a cup 3x's per day) and when he'd go potty outside I would give him low fat, low protein Sr. IAMS little bone-treats. Maybe 5 a day, but sometimes only a half because there is always broken ones in the box. I also gave him 500 mg. Vitamin C twice a day for bone growth. She claims that I was feeding him too much protein and that's how he got this HOD. I don't understand how this could be if I gave him the recommended food, proper amount, no table scraps, no nothing. He was not even close to being fat! He also received plenty of play time after I got home from work and on the weekends.

I am very concerned with this matter because I'm not one to poorly care for an animal, I LOVE animals! He was my baby for the short time I had him! Is it possible this could be because he was in fact or RUNT, or something else? His diet was all by the books! She's trying to blame this matter on me and is prob. not going to refund my $300.00 because of this!! I can't afford to lose the money, and I guess it's more the point of blame on me that I'm concerned with! I even sent the food back w/the dog, along w/toys, updated shots, heartworm dosage etc.. he was very cared for! The vet didn't even notice such a thing in him!!

Please help, anything would be greatly appreciated!!!!!
