Most of you know that TV shows get rated all the time to see who's watching what, and how popular a show is...it's how shows continue, and others get cancelled.
Well, the same applies for radio, as well...and at Q93, we wanna THANK YOU for making it overwhelmingly obvious that Q93 is indeed the #1 choice for "Today's Hit Music!" We are both honored and pleased to know that SIX TIMES as many people chose Q93 in a recent survey over any other choice of similarly music-formatted station(s) within the listening area! That's AWESOME...and again, we don't take it lightly.
We know how much you depend on us...not just for hit music, but for:
1. An entertaining morning with Jen & I...making sure we entertain mom, dad AND the kids all at the same time...we appreciate you letting us into your homes and cars on the way to school/work...
2. An upbeat, non-intrusive soundtrack to your workday...making sure we play the hits without the boss-man getting cranky about what HE/SHE hears, too...
3. The most well-known voice in Cenla radio, Hollywood Harrison, getting you home and having fun along the way...
4. Our rising star, Nick Nite, growing on the air into the fun, entertaining night guy we all knew he could be...
5. The fun we have with you, with our games and contests...making sure YOU have the chance to win stuff you might otherwise not have been able to get on your own. We're PROUD to look back over the last 12 months and say we've given away THOUSANDS in cash, hundreds of concert tickets, many weekend flyaways and getaways, CDs, Christmas gifts, bus trips with us to AWESOME concerts, movie passes, and more! It's FUN for us to reward YOU with prizes that EXCITE you!! And we're working on SO many more fun things over the coming months and year...stay tuned!!! It gets better and better!!
6. Playing what YOU wanna hear!!! It's sad, that in this day of mega-corporate cookie-cutter radio, music decisions aren't based on what listeners wanna hear locally, in MOST places. At Q93, we pay very litle attention to what's on the "Top 40" national charts...we play what you request...we play what you respond to...it's that simple! BOWLING FOR SOUP's "Girl All The Bad Guys Want" was not a hit song ANYWHERE when you decided you liked it back in the late summer/early fall of last year. In fact, ONE radio station (remaining nameless) mocked the fact that we played it...well, one sold-out concert, a Grammy nomination and a budding Top 40 Hit later, you guys made us look like geniuses...and the other station like morons. You loved "Picture" by KID ROCK & SHERYL CROW WAYYYY before it was a Top Ten hit across the country...you make us look good...so keep letting us know what you DO and DON'T like...you have all the devices imaginable..the instant messenger, the phone lines, the website, email and face-to-face contact! Use them all!
We will continue to do what has made Q93 the #1 Choice for Today's Hit Music...we feel it's a formula that works, and you voiced your support. Thank you, Cenla, from the bottom of our hearts, for letting us know that KQID-FM, Q93, is your Hit Music Station of choice...it makes us feel like the hard work and dedication we put into our job worthwhile.
