Do you know what it's like
trying to sleep at night,
when you live in the dark,
but can see the light.

The tension before
can be cut with a knife,
feel the need of each man
to fight for his life.

whips lashing,
women crying,
swords clashing,
soldiers dying.

A greivious war
ensues for years,
a cry for peace
fell on deaf ears.

A lone soldier rose
from this terrible war,
eternally scarred
forever more.

Blood flowing,
but he's the last one,
people knowing,
they had won.

The country rejoiced
for several days,
but the lone soldier's mind
was a dark, dark haze.

He keeps reminiscing
that gruesome fight,
he lives in the dark,
but can see the light.

he cannot think,
he cannot try,
can't find the link,
and doesn't know why.
