Subject: Searching for clues (horse team)

The group scour the area surrounding the horse corpse. At first they find very little, until Aldrai starts looking in the bushes near the crime site and finds a delicate, but very real trail of snapped twigs and leaves leading away from the halfling farm.
She signals the others.
The foursome follow the trail for a rough mile. It appears to be heading into more wooded territory, which makes the following of the trail not very difficult, but the passage through the foliage becomes increasingly hard. They cross a small stream, but are quickly able to pick up the trail on the other side.
At a point about a mile from the halfling farm, the group come upon a clearing in the woodland. There, a woman dressed as a ranger is busy talking to a young man, of maybe 16 years. The woman's back is turned to you as the group approaches, but the boy sees the four adventurers and points in your direction. The woman turns around and looks at you.
"I'm busy training this lad here," the woman states plainly, "and you are trespassing on private property. State your business for being here."
