"Ah, alas kind sir, I don't have any weapons for..." the salesman begins to say, then suddenly he appears to recall something and begins rummaging through the contents of a big, heavy wooden case.
"Wait just a moment good sir, if you will."
A moment later he stands up straight again and shows Kotoyata a strange looking dagger.
"This is the only weapon I have for sale kind sir. I didn't display it since I didn't expect to find anyone looking for a weapon in a village this small."
The dagger he holds in his hands is curved slightly and sheathed in a metal, silver coloured sheath with engraved, circular ornaments.
"This dagger once belonged to the Kalief of Verdomme himself," the salesman says, "He took it with him where ever he went. Or at least, that's what the merchant who sold me this item told me." He looks at Kotoyata and smiles. "Maybe he thought it was charmed or something? At any rate kind sir, if you are interested in this item, I am willing to part with it for three gold coins. The harpy horn will cost you only four silvers."
When Kotoyata asks after the origin of the items for sale, the salesman becomes a little defensive.
"Sir, I am an honest businessman. I aquire my products through trade or other legitimate means. If you are implying that I stole the things you see here, then -"
He is interrupted when without warning, a man comes flying through the tavern doorway, tumbling into Kotoyata from behind.
"And stay out!" a voice yells from the darkness of the tavern.
As Kotoyata turns around to see what just happened, the man, appearantly drunk judging by the looks of him, looks up at the tall stranger and cackles.
"Hee hee hee! MY! That must be the biggest damn nose I ever saw! Ugly too. How'd ya get all those craters in it son? Let a bunch of rats nibble at it or somethin'?"
