I am saying our consciousness is the direct result of our brains, and when our brain dies, that which our brain produces (emotionals, memories, consciousness) ends.

Well, there is likely other life in the universe, but I don't think that's what you're asking. I think that LIFE by strict definition ends, but your molecules exist on forever... So in that sense, I believe in immortality. ;-)

No, our minds do, via genetic programming (much of which is common to us all) and life experiences. We all experience consciousness, but we all feel like different people because we ARE different people.
