Have you ever read Mary Daly's Gyn/Ecology? It's been awhile so I don't remember all the details, but she was making all these connections between FGM practices and Nazi medical experiments on women . . . and then connecting it to consentual straight sex. I couldn't even finish the book. She was flat-out saying that you can't be a feminist if you're not a lesbian. So no wonder so many women think that they can't be feminists and that feminism is meaningless to them.

I don't really follow non-parenting boards, but it might be good to mix up the group a bit if you 'know' some older people or non-parents.
