I see it differently. I think it was a conscious decision to punish the LAPD for their racism. I think OJ probably did it AND Mark Fuhrman tried to plant evidence just to bolster the case. And I also think the fishiness of some of the goings-on in the evidence room make it possible, though perhaps not probable, that they fudged the DNA evidence by maybe getting blood from Simpson while he was in jail.
