Today my heart broke again
It felt like a knife went through me
and it took my breath away
and left my heart in pain
my being shivering from the brokenness of this life
I did not even know you
and maybe I don't even have the right
to write about you
or the pain that marked the end of your earthly life
But I cannot help but cry my tears
for your lost life, for the lost lives of your children
and for the precious ones you left behind
But....what IS life truly?
Is it not Jesus? It was He who said:
"I am the resurrection and the life.
He who believes in me will live, even though he dies."
So in the midst of all this brokenness
I rejoice with the angels
that your soul was saved in time,
that you turned your life over to Him
and that you are safe now with the loved ones
that went ahead of you into His glory
Be at peace, dear one, in His loving arms
May He wipe away every tear from your eyes
and may He reward you fully for all you suffered
