Als de stilte om ons heen ligt
is als een gevangenis
kunnen we geen woorden spreken
van de pijn die in ons is

Pijn waarvan de wereld zegt
deze niet te kunnen horen
pijn waarvan een kerk niet weten wil
pijn die je alleen moet dragen
vandaag zet het ons leven stil

Pijn die ons gevangen houdt
ons de mond snoert
veel te groot voor woorden
