i have lived in a city suburb for so long that the entire county runs together in my mind, and i miss the escape from the concrete jungle. now and then, my joy is to disappear into any place where there is no evidence of man, but i'm such a social animal that i can't stay there long either. like porcupines in winter, gathering together for warmth til the inevitable happens then pulling apart for relief from the pricklies, then back for warmth... i know i crave human spirit and compassion. i think it is a natural craving, but the sad part is that so many humans use up that spirit and compassion watching flat fake figures on a set, and never have any left over for real people. i'm spending mine wisely. and yes...i resent the way t.v. sucks the life and emotions out of people.
