I totally agree. If there is a comic book it would not have nearly the effect as the TV show. The reason why the Simpsons have been around so long is because it is not just pointless humor. It changes with the social and political tides. Unfortunately there is no way to get around this one. You can't be a veggie if you eat a hamburger every Sunday, you can't be truly free if you are stuck to your "shows". Even thought it has basically raised us (I'm 22) in the laps of our folks, it is time for us to move on and leave this particular show for the kids of the nation. The beauty of the Simpsons is that they portray political and social satire in a lovely and easily understandable medium... a cartoon. When you truly get rid of your TV you will no longer need the cartoon crutch, you will finally be a free thinking adult. Good luck on your journey... and South Park really sucks... I mean REALY sucks.
