>Scott: I have been doing what you suggested and yesterday actually, petted and hugged her. Using a Parelli thought, I rubbed her all over and she stayed very calm. When I was rubbing her milk bag on the right side, I noticed it was huge adn when I squeezed it, a white, milk-like fluid came out. She is completely dry on the left side. She is in a pasture with 1 other mare and 2 18 month old fillies. There is a VERY slight outside chance that the neignbor's stallion could have gotten to her last fall but it would be a miracle.

Do you know if this is typical in mares? Could it be a false pregnancy or a symptom of being in season? She had colt about 18 months ago, but we sold him as soon as he was weaned. And she had huge bare patches on her withers and front legs.

Her mood seems a whole lot better as I work with her gently every day. Thanks a lot for you help!
