Brittany-
Try and figure out what it is at the shows that is causing your mare to be upset. Is it the people? Other horses? Loud noises? Watch her carefully the next time you are there, and pinpoint what is bothering her. Then when you get home, work slowly with her to show her that nothing is going to hurt her. Also, try things like walking her over tarps, over obstacles, waving a plastic bag around...things that she might encounter at a show. Be patient and reward her when she calm down. Also, if possible, take her to some shows where you don't compete. Just tie her and stay with her all day and let her get used to everything. Good luck and don't give up! :)
