Subject: Bit Chomping

I have 4 year old quarter horse. He excepts his bit and had seemed ok with it untill I took him on his first trail ride. He chomped at his bit for the first hour we were gone. He seemed to settle down a little as we started for home. Could this be a nurve problem or other comments welcome.
