Subject: Swayback in young horse

I have a 8 year old Quarter Horse cross Morgan mare. I have had her since she was 5. Before I purchased her, a guy owned her that roped off of her. I don't know how much riding she had when she was younger. I barrel race and pole bend with her, riding her 5-6 days a week. Currently, she is slightly overweight. But not overweight enough to cause the swayback that she has. Is there anything I can do to decrease her swayback? What could have caused the swayback?
