Subject: Re: Need info on horse alergies

I am in Ocala florida. In the past 2 summers my horse has come up with summer sores.. 1st one on her heal bulb, then the next year (2009) it came back in the same spot, and one came out behind the fetlock. people tried telling me it was rain rot, well it isnt becuase i had it diagnosed and it has yellow granular wet stuff and it is gross and grows bigger if you dont treat it. treatment is a Quest orally , and then mix panalog and ivermectin and use it as a sav and cover it. OK. did that. 8 weeks to heal. Now , in the dead of winter (and it has been in the 20's here) she pops one in her ear. try treating an open flesh eating wound summer sore in the ear. I am just blown away. This poor loving mare just cant handle it. they say she will still get them up north. I need to find a feed additive for a horse with alergies. the vet says she is so alergic that when she gets a fly bite her body goes crazy and it becomes an open wound with fly egg larvae probably in it. So disgusting. Anyone have anything similiar and find something relativly easy to fix the problem
