Some decks show this principle with images of a person turning his back to the cups behind him. Cups representing both love and emotions. The person with his back to the cups would represent the person we are askign about (ie the man you mentioned) This is a hard card, but a realistic one, warning against unguarded vulnerability. The card can symbolize a lesson for those who have been hurt in love by not making the right choices and for their future it is necessary to take a good look at themselves. We all have a vulnerable side that can be intimidated. In the best of all worlds we would not get bruised and discouraged so easily. In truth, however, it sometimes takes a setback to teach us to be more alert to choices we make. This card brings a self awareness and the knowledge that things are not as simple as they seem.
