There were some great gems in the fifth season. I wasn't thrilled that Sam started leaping into "real" people, although there were many redeeming moments in the Marilyn episode, for instance, especially by the pool. But the Elvis episode was a great platform for some singing and hip swinging. Lee Harvey Oswald gave Scott a chance to act like someone other than Sam, and a despicable character at that. I could have done without the Dr. Ruth, bygamy, bigfoot and vampire episodes, though. Let's see, there was also Trilogy, which, although not so well-liked, opportuned many fine acting moments and had great writing. The more I see it, the more I like it. "Killin' Time" was unique. Be sure to see the original version of that episode. The UFO episode had Sam tied to a bed. What could be wrong with that? ; ) The evil leaper episodes created more questions than it answered and weren't favorites of mine. But the Civil War episode IS one of my favorites, despite the occasional dumb moment.

Conclusion? I think the fifth season was a great season and left me wanting more. I don't think it was anywhere near the end of its run.
