Remember Lo Woon Man's avant-garde hair style back in 1981? Wondering how he looks like now? Haven't seen Simon Kwok for a long time?

Rush to "Class 80" album of Class 80 Album and have a look!!

Lo Woon Man, I stared at the picture for 15 secs before I could convince myself that you were there.

Not sure if anybody still have the pictures of our "Thanks Teacher's Dinner". I don't. Those pictures are invaluable. I vaguely remember the dinner was held in the Chinese restaurant at the junction of Leighton Road and Canal Road W.

Lo Woon Man - Lo Tse! My gosh, 15 seconds is an understatement! The only part I recognised from him in the photo are those eyes of his. Yeah? where's that 'electrified' (Quote Wong Chung) wavy hair of his?!?! Incredible, I am sure he's the one who changed most among us. Still remember those days us guys playing football with him and his AGGRESSIVE style...what about the fish balls and assorted goodies we had when we walked down to Wan Chai after the numerous games after school!!!!!

Ashley, who has that reunion photo of you, Ah Lam, Ah Shun and myself with the cuddly toys in Leeds years ago? Try to find it and post it.

From what I see, the Lo Tze is still the same Lo Tze we used to know 20 years ago, except that maybe, mmmh... he looks a bit older now. But who is not ? 20 years, men, is not a short time.

Shun,

How could you not recognise those pair of "peach flower" eyes and his arrogant trademark grin?

Ding Ding,

I probably have that photo in one of my shoe-boxes. Will try to dig it out.

Lam,

It won't be too hard for Lo and Kwok, but it will be difficult for Paul to make it unless our gathering is on a Wednesday/Saturday. Since he runs his clinic till very late otherwise.

How frequent do you all meet up? I wish I could be here for food and fun. In fact I cannot recognise a few people from the photo album as many of us have changed (Number one example Lo Woon Man!) and posting just English names also mean I cannot track them down as I am more familiar with Chinese names. I guess I left 1/2 way at Form 4 and so missed out the fun for a couple of years plus I think most of the faces that I can hardly recognise are from mainly the 'A' classes. Does anyone have any news of Carl Wong Kun Bun? What is 'Yair Yair' Chan Ka Yan doing now a days? I will post more as I am very curious where many of my old friends are. I am extremely busy just now (Tax product season) but will be freer come March. Certainly will post more on the 'Who's Who and the Where's Who'.

I was looking at my personal childhood album and rediscovered a photo of our Pun Yu Promary 3A2 Christmas party photo! Miss To or Mrs. Fong was our Barn Chu Yum. The photo has the following guys I recognise: Szeto Yuen King, Wong Li Kit, Bosco Wu Kim Hung, Chow Hau - Yeung Ka Ming, Lo Hin Ming, Fu Ming Wai, Arnold Wu Yuet Tsen, Kung Kee Cheung (Got kicked out due to theft), Leung Kang Yan (Shu Fai Gor)and Jiu Ka Yui. Others from the class. I really wonder where some of these guys are? I am curious to know where Yeung Kar Ming and also Gwong Tau Chai Cheng Koon Wai are? Can someone tell me? Also where is Sammy Shroff (So Bo Hung)? What is BIG Arnold Wu Yuet Tsang doing?

I played football with Yeung Kar Ming and his son two months ago. The trio, Ah Lam, Sing Sing and Yeung Kar Ming, defeated another basketball team easily/strenuously. Cheng Koon Wai is as fit as he was. He plays football often.

Ho Fu thanks for the news. Gwong Tau Chai to me is the real iron man! His has a perfect V shape and is full of energy. Chow Hau Ming too is slim as a race horse - another all round athlete. Do you know what these guys are doing? I'd love to get in touch with them.

By the way, Ko Man Pok and Ma Meen Low (Pun Wing Chiu) are also my 3A2 classmates. Love to get in touch with Ma Meen...I am still suffering from his fiery punch when I deliberately annoyed him - ok just kidding. Really though, we had many 'Bean Gun' (Dau Cheung) fights when we were kids. We all bought yellow soya bean but he had the expensive silver beans. Afterwards, we had cups of coca cola mixed with Del Monte fruit punch. The old folks I know the longest has got to be Sun Yuen Tao and Szeto Yuen King. They were both my kindergarten classmates (Lup Boon Yau Chi Yuen)!

Ah Lam: Please start planning for your summer trip as I too want to plan with you if you are serious. There is a Wah Yan regional reunion at Salmon Arm about 5 hours drive from Vancouver this summer and also other GREAT activities we can do when you are over. Love to have a FUN time with you and family. The boat cruise to Alalka is fantastic - I had a really superb time last year as I have mentioned. I love the outdoor and so that was a real eye opener to sample a bit of the real wild widerness while being treated luxuriously. Perhaps we can book cheaper here in Vancouver for you too?

Yes, Lam. Let's us know your plan as time is going fast - blinking your eyes will be the summer. Have blinked our eyes 20+ times which is 20+ years after our HKCE; another 20+ means we will all be retired and perhaps baby-sitting our grandson/granddaughter. Vancouver is small like Leeds and you can see most of the stuff (I know) in 3 days. But here is the centre point of other great places and activities, like Whister, Rockies, Alaska cruise, Yellow Stone Park, San Fran, etc. You need to get a US Visa though. If you wish any info, let me know. I can email you some tour leaflets. For Alaska cruise, I think the later cruise is the better (and cheaper too) as you can see better the glacier. The last cruise I know is end-September though. Very glad to see you here. If Alice and your sons have not seen your Lake District's pictures, I can you show them the pictures here. Not just me but also my mum would certainly treat you a BIG meal.

I can help you to shop for better prices here for sure - I know a few travel agents here plus I can use some of my entertainment book coupons for booking I am sure. By the way, there are more stuffs to see and do here than what Jason has mentioned. For free dinning the Norwegian Cruise Liner is good. By free dinning it means you can dine in any of the restaurants anytime on board but I actually recommend the traditional dinning procedure as the quality of food is superior. The Hollander and Princess seem to be more popular among Chinese tourists. When in Vancouver, We can go for some really hearty hikes and for sure I have confidence cooking rack of lamb as good as Ho Fu can! I use port wine, rosemary, garlic, olive oil, Djorn mustard and Dark sugar to marinate and slow barbecue it mainly with smoke. I also put orange and lemon peels on top of the charcoal to enhance the fruity/smoky flavour.

Shun, where were you at our Wah Yan AGM? I was looking for you but...

Thought it was too much for my little one to stay for 3+ hours in the AGM. Regarding cruise, I also think Holland is good as it seems to be more traditional - I think old cakes like us would like its style. If I am able to get a few leaflets this weekend, I will send Lam a copy.

Lam,

I don't believe the price of the cruise is getting anywhere near to worrying you.

After spending a fortune on repaying part of your mortgage and buying a new car, you could still splash out more than US$4000 on some new toys without blinking your eyes (Yes, I were there, not even his eyelashes moved). I really envy you. I have been tossing and turning during the past two nights because of US$200.

Anyway, congratulations to your latest aquisition - the gorgeous Nikon D100 6.3MP Digital Camera. You should now be responsible for bringing more "new photos" to our album!

The Dollar has devalued for about 20%. Ah Lam is always smart to get a good toy at a good price. Ashley has been tossing and turning during the past two nights for US$2M?

Now now...folks...I feel I am the real 'Ga Charn'(Canadian saver) - I still do not own a digital camera (Thought about it for ages) nor a hi-fi system (already given up and just go to my friends' houses to listen to fine music instead) nor a dvd (thought about buying a Cd$180 for an el-cheapo model but gave up after too many nights of T&Ts) nor many things. My car, as I mentioned before, is from 1992 (will likely to keep for another 10 years) and most of my clothes are over 10-15 years old (Toby recognised my Gore tex suit from our Mount St. Mary's days 20 years ago!) but I do have numerous bottles of fine wines. That's why wife doesn't want to visit HK for so many years!

Ho Fu,

At first glance, I thought you were just joking, but then I realised there was certain degree of truth in your message.

You are right about the US$2M but it was back in 1997. I would be carrying more than US$2M if I sold all my real estate and slept on the street. I didn't and what happened afterwards is history now. The market plummeted and US$2M became minus HK$2M.

"Tossing and turning" are not the appropriate words to describe those nights. Fortunately my whatever quotient is high enough to prevent me from joining the "Indoor BBQ movement".

I don't agree with the first part of your message:
Firstly, If Lam was earning Euro or something like that, then you were right. If, on the other hand, he is just earning HKD, then any depreciation of US$ will not help him.
Secondly, he is too wealthy to care about the exchange rate.

However, I would still say he has made a smart buy. D100 is really a great camera.

Ding Ding,
Models costing Cd$180 aren't el-cheapo. I saw models of less than US$50 on the web.

Ashley the El-cheapER models are the only ones to watch those three times copied DVDs. The expensive ones just would not work!

By the way, Like Daniel Choy Tak Leung, we still own our Adidas Gazelle trainers. He has a pair of blue and I still have my red Gazelle. You guys should get him wear that at the next picnic for nostalgic reason!

As to cars, I have a Honda Civic hatch back 1993 model. They are so reliable and they don't drink much at all. Thought about changing car for 3,4,5, years but I cannot think of any logical reasons to convince myself. The hatch back also means I can stuff a couple of bikes at the back for cycling etc.

I am thinking seriously of a good digital camera though. Any suggestions? Can$ is favourable vs. US$ just now and I can order through the internet and have the camera shipped to my brother in Seattle. In this case I pay ZERO tax and many companies also waive the shipping cost somewhat. You experts have to advise me with your in depth research...

If Ashley sold all his real estate, he wouldn't be sleeping on the street; he would be so happy that he couldn't fall asleep. Anyway, let's drink a toast to this "collective memories". Ah Lam will make a prospect because his firm is more competitive--they bill US dollar. He is wealthy in heart with Hey Yeung and Hiu Yeung and Ashley with Edmund and his brother, sister or twins. Will you consider Spy by Che-ez. It's only 34g. It can take 26 high reoslution pictures or 108 low one. That's my first and last digital camera. My friend gave it to me. Car! I cannot even afford to pay for my poor old 1971 model. Ashely was kind to her, otherwise she would have to sleep on the street.

Primarily to take family pictures and also for taking outdoor pictures from such as hiking and other trips. However, more professional quality pictures would be considered as I am thinking of a do-it-yourself type publishing of a book on wine tastings etc. I will also use the camera to categorise my wine collection for inventory and for insurance purpose.
