Date Posted: 22:01:33 10/19/07 Fri Author Host/IP: c-71-197-21-170.hsd1.mi.comcast.net/71.197.21.170 What is the figure of speech that gives animals human characteristics like Orwell used in "Animal Farm?" It's driving me crazy and I can't find it anywhere and my perfect Adderall buzz is on the verge of becoming OCD. All I can come up with his "humanize" but I know there is a more official term in literary circles. Why do we as a Western Civilization look down on animals and assume they are incapable of emotions? I know why, and of course it's impetus rest in Rome but they aren't so bad today. We accept theistic evolution and therefore share a common ancestry--though with complete dominion over the beasts--but I love my dog and I REALLY want to convince myself he is capable of nostalgia...that one's always been my favorite emotion. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! I'm seriously giving some earnest consideration to becoming a vegetarian again. I don't think, that after getting this deep with my dog tonight AFTER my quasi new-age Tori Amos listening bleeding heart girl has gone above and beyond with her rhetoric. Is this blackmail. Listen to me, read my hippie books...if you want me to get you Adderall. Fuck it. I can't eat anything with eyes and anyone that does is a rotten human being.
